Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Painteffect cherrytree is so bright

hello guys

i start using paint effect in maya by create a Cherrytree
then i convert the thing into a polygon so that it can be seen in mental ray rendering mode

after it is convert i press render in mental ray mode and it is taking timing. At first when it start to be getting shape it looks good the branch the leafs the light was good but then when it finish rendering the tree glow so bright i can't even see the leaf can only see growing light in the middle of the tree. I didn't create any light by the way. Look likes it only happen with the cherry tree

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

also any link to a teaching of rendering and lighting for realistic tree would be very great thx.

Hello,

my first guess is, that it might be a question of the gamma correction. You have a light in the scene, otherwise you would not see anything.
I recommend to connect all textures for the leaves etc. with the gamma correction node and adjust to level 0.45 for all (1/2.2). It could held to bring the brightness down.

But you should help us with a screenshot ;-)

Regarding the link, there is a great tutorial at SIMPLY MAYA for outside environment esp. for trees and grass. It will make you perfect in it :-)

That's actually shader glow and it's an effect added after the render is complete. In the material's attribute editor, under "special effects" turn down/off the glow intensity.
