Beer glass scene creation
This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

Then something weird's going on on my end because I can see people's signatures (Kev's, mine, Rage's, etc.) but I don't see UG's. I also dont see the link to Rage's site. I see his white signature, then black txt: "My site:" with no link there.

Anyway, if yer on a mac, I'd definitely recommend BBedit and or Dreamweaver. I used BBedit for a number of years at a web shop I used to work for. I use DreamweaverMX currently (but still tend to do a lot of hand-coding in their code-view). What I find makes it so handy is when it comes to setting up sites and working with DHTML (layers, timeline work for flyout menus, etc.). It's a time-saver.

Building a basic site isn't too difficult and there are plenty of resources out there to help you get through it. One thing I'd recommend is drawing a basic flow chart on paper of the site architecture and then check out some of the design inspiration sites such as the site of the week archives at designinteract or design portals Surfstation, designiskinky, and threeoh.

Otherwise, have fun, like Izzy said.

The only versino of Dreamweaver i used was an older one, AND IT SUCKS! Yeah frontpage adds a bit of extra code, but I go back and modify it most of the time. I prefer makeing pages with notepad. (PC version of BBEdit) Sorry to cause a rucuss among SM, but I have strong negitive feelings tward that program. Chad, reading your email now.

Not to be a nitpicker but you shouldn't base opinions on out of date software. That'd be like saying, "Oh photoshop sucks!" after using like version 2, before it had layers. Btw, notepad would be more equivalant to simple text than BBEdit, which IS an actual HTML editor, just non-WYSIWYG one.

Hehe... you guys are nuts. And I mean that in the nicest way possible. user added image

You got a typo in your sig Kevin. It should be coming, not comming. Unless of course it's some sort of British term I'm not familiar with. Like a short word for communication... Either that or it's about your trip to the Cloud Cuckoo Land... ... ... ...

sigh...

sometimes humor is completely lost over the internet. So if this isn't funny, I blame Big Bird.

yep I have too much time on my hands...

I hope you dont mind but......I pieced together the image on your page (it was kind of fun reassembling it! like a puzzle) then I cut up your nav... and cleaned up the spacing. two of the rollovers arent perfect due to the angle of the graphic, but still looks ok.

I cheated and used the entire image as the background and laid the buttons over it... quick fix... you could cut down on page size by slicing it up further

there is still a ton of messy code in the html... my web skills are minimal so I have no idea how to clean it up.

also I dont know how to get the borders off of your scroll buttons.....

True...but there weren't any glaring problems with Dreamweaver 4 so...are you sure you were using it to it's full potential? You can customize it quite a bit which fixes alot of the annoyances. The only irritation I had when first using it was in the wysiwyg view when you do hard return and it inserts paragraph tags instead of a simple line break....not a big deal though as it can be changed....and if you spend most of the time in code view anyways it doesn't really matter.
