Beer glass scene creation
This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

Prizm

Is it posible for Maya to create the rainbow/prizm effect by shining a beam of light into a prizm shaped object without using special rainbow shaders, just using the rules of physics?

Just curious. I was playing and couldn't get it to work. But I didn't try raytracing lights. Gonna try later. user added image

I believe so. Try cracking up some caustics. Not sure if it will work by default, but you can definitely get the effect by tweaking.

Let me know if it works.

In the material attributes there some called "Chromatic Aberration" located in the raytrace options. This is supossed to do what you want, but it comes with crazy, (and i mean crazy) render times.
