fire Reflect

Hi Everybody...

As u see below- The fire is not reflected on that blue surface (actually its an oil burner that candle supposed to be in side it) . How can I make it reflected on surfaces???
And another question does anybody has idea how to make the candle texture more realistic?
I know its not a good work but Im only beginner.

Hello Avi

I've been having diffcult time with a cadlelight I am trying to do for a project. I've learned from observing actual candles that their flames have a particular form and color. The fire in your candle looks as if there's wind blowing it... I don't know if that's what you meant... otherwise, try modeling you fire in the shape of a water drop and add some glow to it... use some blue color at the bottom of the flame...

You should render with raytracing on and make the material of the blue surface to have some reflectiveness (use a blinn or phong texture, maybe, not Lambert...)

I am a begginner also, so don't take my words as completely correct!! user added image And sorry for my english...

Remember: it's from obeserving things in real life that we learn how to represent it... user added image

What I do sometimes is put a small orange/yellowish light inside the flame. This then shows up on the adjacent surface.

How do I add a color to the flam? and about freezing that it won't move... How???in the fire - time option field???

You could alter the propeties of the flame object (assuming its an object) and make it glow. Bit o' incandesence never hurt anyone user added image

And BTW, are you sure the blue surface is reflective at all? looks like you should turn on raytraycing...

if you did, then forget what i said, iw as never here...:-)
