This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

August Challenge - CKYUK - Noobie

Progress on this is going to be slow as most of my time will be on the summer tournament, but the idea is to build a lab for someone who loves weapons of mass destruction (like nukes) and he'll be working on a new weapon he hopes will end the world including himself as his lifes goal is to die by the worlds most powerful weapon

It's going to be in a cartoon style and this is his massive 12 foot tv that shows "nuke of the day".

it's too early to give much of a crit, but if you are going to have the TV as a centre piece of the scene I would add some more details like knobs and buttons and stuff.

Looking forwards to seeing more

Here's an update on it. It's not going to be the centre piece just some thing at the side.

ooo I like big red buttons..... user added image the things on the side are really cool aswell. All I'd say is that the bottom should be a bit bigger to support the stuff on top. Looks a little top heavy at the moment. And think about smaller details like nuts and bolts etc.

Tomorrow i should be out of the summer tournament and i won't be looking after my cousin all day so i can start working on this alot more. I agree it does look top heavy so i'm going to redo the legs with 4 or 6 spider type legs. As for the small detail like nuts they'll get done the end of the month depending on how complex the rest of the scene is and how well my computer can run it without taking half hour to move the view port.

Cool stuff ckyuk. If the performance is killing you, I suggest you use layers and hide the stuff you don't have to see. I use it all the time with my slow scenes (12 layers on the M1A1, 5 on the workplace scene). Good luck, and post that final in the tourney user added image

Uhh, Just a tip, and a very silly one.........Rotate the fridge just a little bit so that the reflection doesnt match up with the floor. Also, turn the reflection down and the cosine power up a bit.
