I always seem to be posting un-finished work here, so just for a change here is one I finished earlier. Critique is always welcome user added image

Thanks Zyk0tik, my goal was to create this bird with proceedural textures only. It took a lot of messing with lots of ramps user added image

The bird looks great! The composition is good. Only thing I feel looks a bit odd is the ground, it is a bit smooth.

Yes, since the branch is in close-up, a displacement map would work better than bump. But that's just an opinion. I like it very much.

The transition from the 'solid' feathers to the edge feathers is a bit riugh. You can see the geometry a little too much. Other than that, looks great. user added image

all i can say is great work!! the feathers, bark looks good. the only thing that i noticed was the chest and the area around it..it looks as if its a stone..like it doesnt like the crow is feathered..it looks as if bumps maps were used..but overall..it looks really good! good job user added image
