I think I'm going to limit myself somewhere between 3000-4000 triangles.

Looks like you are well low of that right now. What is the count? I would add some around the face.

After adding some detail to the torso and hands, I have about 3100 tri-polys. But that is with 500 poly hands

Think I'm going to remove some polys from my now, smoother hand

Btw, could you give me some good tips on how I should improve the face. I could put up some better screenshots for you if you like.

Need some critique, and I need help with the face. Where I should improve and such?

Should probably have started a new thread with the marine, I guess

Now everyone thinks this is only an M16...

Some more work on the hands.
Particularly those thumbs.
Maybe shave off some geometry in them too.

As per everything else, I like it very much.

Thanks, yeah, was never happy with the thumbs.

Will look into it next week, working on a orc-face for the Challenge now

This hasn't been updated for a while, so I thought I should just pop in and say that I will update this with a Textured M16 tomorrow.

I think he looks a bit chubby in the last render you posted... could be just the angle / his jacket though. Other than that good job!

Yeah, I know. It's supposed to be his clothes, but it might be too much... it's vietnam so they don't run around in winter clothes
