Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

very cool, is the bump map all painted? try and get some of those spot marks and things more defined, the wrinkles rock but i think his face looks a bit more... lumpy so to speak.. may just be me

Have not posted any work for a while... Here is an update on the color map, it's rough as you can see by the lips and he still needs some more color on the eyes and stuff.

Thanks for the critique people. Moving along with the texture, still needs a lot of work.

That's good stuff, he looks a bit more ruddy than the pictures (Ian Mckellen always looks over pale I think) but the subtlety in the shading is very jolly.

Wow! Great texturing IceQueen. Maybe when you're done, you could post up a tutorial on how you did that? I, for one, would love to see that. user added imageuser added imageuser added image

Hey Ice, this is coming along verry nice!
I think you could work a bit on lips/mouth. But beside that, it looks fantastic, modelling & texturing. Keep it up!
