I am still debating whether to use cloth or not....Turning polygons into SubD's makes the model extremely heavy. I will have to do some experimenting.

And BTW, I purchased an exellent book. I just purchased "Maya Character Animation" by Jai-jin Choi. It has exellent tutorials and clear, concise rigging techniques. I recommend it highly....user added image

The cloth looks ok but as you mentioned with a high density mesh it can be a pain (although once the simulation is cached it shouldnt be a problem).

I would do some more work on the face especially around the eye area. It's just not quite there yet (depends though if you're focussing on the cloth or the model...)

Pure;

I know.....I am going nuts with the eye area...I just can't seem to get it right......I might cut off the head and start it over.....but I will work on it some more before I do that. For now...I am going to continue with the shirt and skirt....user added image

You might want to add a couple divisions in the fold between the "peeks". It kinda just goes from point to point without a transition between them.

Did you use incremental saves? If not there is an option box next to the file save. When checked on every time you hit control 's' your file will be saved as a different file in the incremental saves folder with the file name.
On to the problem you could try using the Polygons Reduce tool, to decrease the number of polygons you got when reverting back.

Oh shoot....I just was thinking that when I bind this to a skeleton that the shirt and the body are two different meshes.....can you bind them at the same time to one skeleton? yikes!!!
