Complex UV Layout in Maya

Textures/shader

I not sure if this goes inn the newbie or Textures forum...
but im a newbie so here it is:

when i apply a shader.. out of the air: glass.. (one of those in maya) it dosent look at good as the one in the picture, whats wrong?

(it dosent look good at all!)

things with reflection/refraction have to be ray traced and lighting is a big factor, too.

yea, and make sure all of your objects are set to "visible in refractions" unless it is a vampire or something.
