Seeing the light from a Spotlight in the Air

Hay iv just made a model of 16mm film project and what I want to do is make it so you can see the light projecting out in a cone from the lens but I’m cant work out how to do this iv tried to use a spotlight but though I can see the light when It hit an object I cant see it in the air

Any Idea’s

make a spot light and apply some fog effect in its attributes, im not sure if its called fog effect bt its something like that all it does is makes the light beam visable like there is dust infront.

np nice model btw i think ya need to set yer light forward a bit cos it kinda looks like its not quite sittin right, kinda goes through the edge rim.
