Rendering

Hi All. I'm using Maya 2008 and have a simple animation called movement that I would like to render into a format that will allow it to be edited in Premier cs3. So far I have tried a jpeg format but prem plays each frame at a really slow rate 24 frames can take 3/4 seconds. Other formats I have chosen such as avi create a file name such as movement.avi.tmp.avi. There is no Quicktime option in image format option range. My working unts are 24 fps in maya and Prem is set a dv 24. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would be extremely grateful. Cheers Pete
