i cant figure out how to model these headlight casings for the bloody life of me... anyone got any ideas?

try using a poly plane beginning at the lower right corner (looking at it from the front) and extrude edges along the outline of the base of the light housing. after you have the basic curvature start extruding edges up and scaling in to match the vertical curve of the lights. you will most definitely need to rearrange vertices to more closely match the topology of the light housing. but this is a good method for this particular object. good luck.

ROFL, hey I just watched that movie yesterday (late I know, but I like bad movies and I just got around to it so sue me lol) that line had me freakin' choking on my Nerds. It was terrible but it was entertaining.

Anyways, the modeling is looking good. And about the headlight casing (I'm not car modeler like you guys :x but tools are tools) if you're doing it from scratch and not snipping it off the immediate geo, then I think re-using a low res lattice would work and it'll help you avoid getting lumps.

lol, i've never even seen that movie i just know the line from a song called snakes on a plane that was made by cobra starship based on the movie :p im addicted to the line though user added image

finally got around to trying to do the headlight... i don't really know how i did it, i know it isnt perfect though... don't ask for a wire cause i have no idea how it manages to fall together the way it does... confusing....
