Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Only just realised that link takes you half way, if you click on the skeletal drawing gallery, then scroll down the left hand side to the 3rd tyrannosaurus drawing you get a much more managable concept to get your head around.

Once I get the rigging done I'll mostly do walk cycles and simple stuff at first to demo the rigging and skin deformetion.

After a few days of research I've got groups of muscles I like that dinosaurs would probally have plus their functional for movment.

I'll star rigging them with cMuscle system soon.

Are you using nurbs or polys and how are you modeling the muscles? Looking forward to seeing this one develop.

Thanks,

arran, I will be using the cMuscle plug-in eventually so I have to use nurbs for the muscles but I some time model them with polygons and convert them. The bones were modeled as polygond and converted to sub-Ds to look all smooth and shiny but I might convert them back for speed reasons.

cMuscle is a plu-in you can get over the web at https://www.cometdigital.com/cMuscleSystem.php

It works pretty well but it costs about 250 so I think there are simpler cheaper plugins if you can't afford it. It does good volume control on muscles and simulates jiggle well. Right now the muscles are just nurbs and haven't been converted.
