Thinking of Upgrading

So I am thinking of upgrading my Student version of Maya to a full Commercail version but well....I dont know which version of Maya I have. I think I have unlimited. But I want to be sure so is there a way to tell what version you have?

Or

Dose it really matter? i mean if you have Unlimited can you upgrade to full with a Maya Complete Commercail DVD?

Thanks much

It just says Maya2008. But I think I do have Unlimited concidering what I got when I ordered.

So that just leaves question 2. I really hope it is possible becuse really all Unlimited is, is Complete with a few more toys.

It depends on what you want to do with it really, as complete doesn't have fluid effects or I believe hair either, so if you want to do more vfx things rather than modelling and animation then unlimited id the way to go. Also not sure if Complete has nCloth, have been using Unlimited for so long that I can't remember limitations of Complete lol.

Well currently I am just using it to build mesh's. I dont really have the skills to make people or creatures so for now just simple stuff. Mesh's/Animations.

I believe I do have Unlimited becuse I do have Fluids/Fur/Hair/Ncloth

This is true. Still I do wonder if I can just upgrade with Complete even though I have unlimited.
