Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character
Hiya, I have a polygon model of a hound and i want to attach fur, now i have seen a view posts saying that i need to be using nurbs, is this so or can i still keep my model as a polygon.
You can use Polygons but in order to use fur on polygons you will have to UV map the model so the UV's are unwrapped into the 0-1 UV space.
You might be able to get away with automatic mapping but if you plan to colour the fur I would recomend you sew your UV's so you can decide where the texture seems will be.
