pistons, hydraulics help

hi, for the challenge, on my foot i added hydraulics, pistons, whatever u want to call it, how can i manipulate it dynamically, when i lift my foot up as the toes point down and the pistons get longer?

might want to look at set driven keys along with point constraints.

Inverse Kinematics can be used but using constraints would be more simple and eficant on stuff like this.

I know its a lot to ask, but could anyone write up a quick how-to on this kind of stuff? Or, just as good, point me in the direction of a good tutorial. Have searched and found a few, but none that really worked for me. Maybe I just need to take the time to play around with it. Ah, so much to do, so little time. And I dont even have kids yet. I salute you people who do, and still find time to do stuff like Maya hehe user added image
