Maya will not open

ok i just got maya 6.5 when i open it this is what is saids then closes

Pixel shading extensions insufficient to support hardware rendering

can somone help me out?

Not positive, but I'd guess your graphics card isn't up to the task of handling hardware renders. What card to you have?

If you don't need hardware renders then you may be able to disregard the warning.
