Using Smooth Proxy Question: I want Hires Unselectable.

I am using Smooth Proxy and i am having a bit of trouble. Probably something really easy to fix.

I want to see my hires geometry but i dont want to select it.
I made 2 layers 'Low' and 'High' but transformations wernt passing across from the low geometry to the high geometry. SO that didnt work.

Basically i want to select a face/edge/vertex of my low goem without accidentaly selecting the high geom. I dont even want to see the face 'dots' either.

In a nutshell, I want to manipulate my lowres 'cage' and i want the hires unselectable in any way but still updating...

thanks,

If I knew what I was doing, I'd be sane right now.
