image sequence texture will not batch render

Hi there. I have used a SGI image sequence to animae the baldness attribute of some fur. The fur feedback shows the changes over time, and current frame renders display the correct result. However, in batch renders the aniamtion doesn't show! Why would the batch render and the current frame render be different. Please help as this is a major hurdle in creating an urgent effect.
thanks in advance
Peter

Are you using a different renderer for your current and batch renders?

No I am using the software renderer for both the currnet and the batch renders. It doesn't work in either command line or maya rendering.
Thanks for the reply? any other ideas...
Peter

Have you tried different renderers? I've had a model render in mental ray but not in software before.
