Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

shaders

how can I add the shaders I find over the Internet to maya?

Go to Windows -> Rendering Editors and open up the the hypershade window. In Hypershade, click file -> import and browse to your downloaded file and voila, that's it. If you save the file into the appropriate AW location (i.e., C:/AW/ShaderLibrary/Shaders/), it will also show up in the shader library menu in the hypershade.
