Thanks, guys. I've made some more progress. I skipped over the hands for now, I'm dreading them. What's the best way to go about UVing them. I was thinking doing planer and then separating the front from the back. I'll probably use a temp. Endomorph to position the hands for the best projection.

Heya Sandman, I am curious as to what made you redo the UVs? I see by the result it was time well spent, but I guess my noobie self wonders "What rang the alarm?"

For hands, planar seems to make perfect sense. That's pretty much how I attack them with pencil and paper. The construction is very planar. Curves (roundness) and the subtleties of the hand are just secondary and tertiary shapes and shading.

I found this thread helpful as well, by maestro Severinianthony and monsignore Marlonjohn: https://forum.simplymaya.com/showthre...threadid=25674

My original thought was to make use of symmetry to save me work. But then I thought of something cool to use for the chest texture, but i needed to texture asymmetrically. As it turns out my workflow went mush more smoothly than I antisipated, so I redid the head in the same way. You'll see what I mean when I start painting the texture. soon... i definately want the UV's done by friday.
I have started on the hands... not mush to now but planer is definately the easiest way.

Thanks, Well I finally started painting. I figured out how to export the UV. Then it took me a little while longer to figure out that LW exported it as the wrong color format. :headbang: After that I was able to do my first test of placement. the color is only for clarity.
