Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

Head

Hey guys, I started this new bust recently. The sculpting part is pretty much done, then I'll start focusing on some clothing and accesories. I will be texturing him eventually. I am taking my time on this one because everytime I look at it something doesn't fit quite right (the neck surprisingly turned out to be a lot different than I had been doing them in the past), so it may be a while before I post again with an update. This particular shot has a tiny DOF effect that I wanted to test out.

Jay, great to see you doing tutorials for this site and being so active here.

I think it looks really good. Only thing I can think of is that maybe the nose is a little bit big?

Looks very nice, and smooth. He also has some character, he doesn't look too generic.

Nice work!

hmmm - not sure about the armor so far - it looks a bit roman - i might go for something a bit more futuristic looking.

neh, I like it a lot!
Can't wait to see it modeled.
Will you model the whole body?

Roman armour is fine by me, it will be a refreshing change.

The 'Gears' space marine style has just become too common and cliched on the forums and games with massive **** off weapons, its been done to death. yaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwn

Look forward to the rest....

Yeah I'm with jay. Everything nowadays looks like it was modeled for War Hammer. Looks great at first, but after awhile it gets to be boring.

But i like the roman look.

Nice work.

ha ha - well i'm in the minority - i guess i'm just so used to art school where every other piece was a brown soup painting with someone in a toga.... oh well, roman it is!

lol, I've been gathering reference material. I am leaning towards a "fusion" of roman and gothic armor...dont know yet.
