Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world

Mirror effect on move tool

Hey forum, been having some dilemmas with the move tool in Maya. It seems that whenever I select and try to pull a vertex, the one parallel to it will pull with it, on the same axis. Here's a pic:

It's funny that talking about the problem can make it clear what is wrong. I just turned off reflection on the move tool properties. Thanks forum!user added image
