Weight on a chain

Hi all, I am looking for a tutorial on how to add weight to a chain. I made the chain by following this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CgVIh04hNY
But now I'm sorta stuck.
To give you all an idea of what I want to do, I want an object like a crane of somesort with a chain, and on the end of the chain I want to add weight. sorta like a ball and chain animation? any help?

the weight comes from adjusting the attributes of the Follical shape node (select the dynamic curve in the outliner and then the Follical shape tab ) and adjust the stiffness and maybe the attraction, then under the hair system shape tab adjust the dampening too until you get the result you are looking for.
Be careful how much you adjust because a small amount can go a long way, also ONLY adjust one attribte at a time so you can see what it is actually effecting so as not to adjust anthing more than you need to .
Its really a matter of tweaking settings until you find what you like ...goodluck and i hope this helps .
