can't see my texture

hello everyone,
currently i'am doing a product visualization tutorial. after the modeling of that headset i put some materials on it. now i wanted to put on some textures (logos) on it. i did everything like in the tut. first i planar map my geometry then i did a uv snapshot and saved it. now i edited the logos in ps,saved them and switched to maya again. i selected my geometry and under colour i choose the file material.now i opened my logo- everything like in the tut user added image - but i can not see it. not in the persp. view and not after the rendering.
can anyone help? and sorry for my english!

Edit: i've just read that in the hardware texturing the textured channel option should not be set to "none".but i have no options to choose from.

Sounds silly but have you assigned the shader to your mesh............dave

look to the right of the word colour in your shader is there a box with a arrow in it?........dave

hey dave i'am so sorry user added image! i've just saw that i put the file under the colour in the refraction menu.

me againuser added image. another question: how to remove the file from the colour in the refrection menu?

Edit: i figured out myself user added image. just delete the connections in the hypershade.
