Creating image planes

I know how to draw but for some reason I cant draw my characters in the right porportion in the side and top views for my characters. This is the only thing holding me back from making amazing characters, because I hate drawing the image planes for modeling. Are their any good tutorials out their to show you how to draw image planes and line them up correctly for modeling.

Hello,

using graph paper will help you create accurate image planes if you're drawing them yourself. As far as tutorials on setting up image planes for Maya, part one of the Ferrari Remastered tutorial from this site covers the subject rather well.

Take it easy,

Mat.

ive drawn four seperate image planes for some of my characters and let me say ive never gotten them right. each time ive had to mutilate them in photoshop before opening them in maya. they just never line up. but photoshop does sove alot of problems. there's no getting around having to draw that side prespective though. i tried to wing it once with just the front view and i was screwed.
