Industry software

Hi.
I was wondering what kind of software a major animation studio such as Pixar would use. I know they use their own software, but what would this be equivalent to in terms of software packages which are easily availabe, such as Maya or 3Ds. Would they use Maya or Maya Animation suite for example, to create an animation scene? I'm not talking about a simple animation like a bouncing ball or whatever, but a proper 3+ minute scene with lip sync and fluid movement.
Thanks

it doesnt matter what software they choose to animate in,
they have the best TDs, animator, and software engineers at their disposal.

but they use maya at pixar, and more propritary stuff.
