Can't get back to bind pose

So I rigged my character, paintied all the weights, and set up all the controls, but I forgot to bind one teeny tiny detail. I've tried binding it to the single joint to which it has to be bound, but it says something about the skeleton not being in bind pose, then when I try to get it to go back to the bind pose, it says it can't do it. Does anyone know how I can get my character back to bind pose?
