Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

I'm glad you put that buttstock on... You wouldn't want the BATF to catch you without one user added image

This might have the expresion you need to make it randomized. Also the Inspired Character Creation book has a good little chapter on expressions. You might be able to take a look at it in your local borders, (Borders is my Libary). Looking forward to seeing more of your project.

Help on vector rendering...may not be the right forum

Hi,

This image looks fantastic. Could someone give a basic idea of how to vector render in maya? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks in advance.

I can't help with that, but i know you need maya 5 so if you've got 4.5 or lower you can't do it.

I was originally going to do this in vector but vector does not support particles. Than i tried to do layers which worked fine but than the issue is that there is no alpha in vector either. So thats when I decided to go with the realistic look.
