Beer glass scene creation
This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

Smooth proxy not inhereting materials?

Hello looking for a little help.

I've created a smooth proxy for a model, and as I texture I see some work I need to do on the model.

The proxy doesn't inheret the materials though. I could just re-assign but I've got more than one material on separate UV sets; shouldn't it just automatically transfer the material and UV relationship? At the moment it is just a shell without materials. I can't just smooth it either since I've got creased edges and they're not respected via a smooth.

cheers

I think at the moment Smooth proxy only works to Smooth the object, and not update the texture, as the smooth proxy gets a new shader assigned every time you hit Smooth Proxy.

You could change that by assigning your shader from the smoothed version to the proxy version.
