Maya goes Nuts!!!

Hi everybody.
I Installed Maya 6 a few weeks ago. At first it worked alright.
But for a few days now it's been giving me lot's of headaches.
Some of the problems are:
1. Only the top viewport has it's name written in it.
2. Some of the transformation tools don't show in some of the viewports, sometimes.
3. At times, some of the transformation tools appear wierd (see image below).
4. the program crashes sometimes.

I tried the maya 6.0.1 update but it has no effect.
help me!

Sounds like a video card/driver issue.

woah... weird... yeah, I'd have to agree that it's probably some sort of compatibility issue somewhere...

I used maya 5 PLE and maya 6 PLE and never encountered any problems. so i don't think that's the problem

The newest build of Maya possibly doesn't have the same video compatibilities as the PLEs.

Make sure you have the latest video card drivers.
