renderer isnt working!?!?!/

I created a scene in maya 6.0 and I just attempted to render it.... my image turned out like this! Why????

Which render system did you use? Software, Hardware ?

I just tried it and the software render doesnt work, but the hardware one does?

well make sure you've got some lights in your scene, and make sure they're not inside something. a point light is good for a quick and dirty render. just raise it above everything else.

also, what kinds of textures do you have on your objects? the black rock in particular...

I agree with Neo. Its a lighting issue. Ensure your lights are above geometry and that they are not in a layer that is V (visable) is off or is set to T (Template) or R (Reference).

This will cause the lights not to render correctly.
