Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 1
This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

motion path..

i am working on a little progect that calls for a little beam of light to go from one point to annother, i was going to make a sphere and run it on a motion path with a glow intensity, what i need to know is how to create a motion path and how to make an object run on it at a desired speed
any help is much apreciated ^^

create a curve. select the object, shift select the curve. In the animation menu, under curves, attach to curve. In the options you can set the start and stop keys for timing.
