This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

Project X - a short movie

Hello all, haven't posted here for aa while.
Anyway, I'm begining to work on a new project, which will be 3-5 minutes long movie, and it's basicly about dragon attacking a fantasy/medieval city. it has a short story to it, but I'll write about it later. For this project I will use some models I was working on in the past and havent finished. At the moment, I have modelled a dragon and started to make uv mapping, also I have started to work on modelling "Aracnius", the evil wizard.

Also, I would like to ask one thing. When you make blandshapes, For example i want to have few blandshape's of dragon head, I do I work just with it's head and not the whole dragon, since it's all one piece? i guess I have to sepperate head from the body, but I'm not sure if I like that?!

As I said, I will post a short story later, for now, you have few screenshots:

Is it a gliding dragon as thats what the wingspan suggests?

Well, yes and no. it will have to swing with wings, but not as fast as usual dragons, because of his huge wings. I might be kinda similar to t he LOTR's nazgul/dragon.

Tnx for comments! user added image

In the first dragon pic, his legs appear to be a bit too stubby. Maybe it's just the point of view, or maybe it's just me.
Great job so far though. Keep it up!user added image
