creating bluprint

Hi,

I modelled a simple polygon_lamp. Now I tried to UVmap that thing (automapping) so I can print it and use that as a reference for a real lamp cutting out of glass and soldering the pieces together. (xmas-pesent)

thing is -> UVmapping doesn´t quite work like I need because the faces are somehow skewed. How can I map (or edit) the object so when I finally cut the faces from the resulted blueprint -> that I get the exact same object recreating it in glass?

does even anybody know what I mean? sorry for my artificial english!

any help would be appreciated
