Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

Mental Ray

I am trying to render my model using mental ray and I keep getting the following errors which are some of my sub poly surfaces that will not appear in my final render. I can render using Maya Software, all others I have problems. If I leave at Polygons no problems, when I change to sub polys then I have problems.

Can anybody help with this one? Thanks in advance.

Mental Ray will ONLY render SubD's that are in Quads, not tri's and not more than quads.. You should either stick to, or convert to polys, or reaarange your subDs so they only have quads.

it sucks ..

Btw, MR do not support Maya's Partial Crease aswell..

Thanks Carsten,

I was hoping this was not the case.
