Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

I made a cup for one of my first ever models (there's a quick tutorial for it under NURBS in Maya's help files). I fooled around with it for a while trying out different textures and lighting and even trying to fill it with water to have it spill out when the cup gets knocked over. I never succeeded with the water thing, but you should use this model as a stepping stone to explore Maya's capabilities and then post what you come up with.
