3d Hardware

i know that this is not reallya maya related techincal issue,
but i figured that here is the place to post.

i'm thinking of buying a ATHLON X2 4200+ with a GEFORGE 7600GT, but i also thought of buying an OPTERON whit a PNY QUADRO FX 540, i use maya 7.0 A LOT and i don't know whitch conbination will work better in the rendering process, but i don't want to lose performance in gaming :p ...

thanks...

You might be a little stuck, as the Quatro is qualified my alias so it will work with maya, but isn't tuned for games. the Gforce is not qualified so you might get problems with Maya, but will be better for games.

The rendering is almost on pure processing power (as well as RAM to a small extent) so whatever is faster to be honest as you haven't put what opertron you were thinking of.

Cheers
