Ahhh Undo. The most reliabel option any Maya version has to offer.

An Ode to Undo
Praise unto you Undo and all who follow you,
May the dark gooeyness of mistakes be written out of Maya,
Praise unto you Undo and all who worship you

Completely pointless, but hey. Work is quiet atm :attn:

1) Ask the great people on here for help - very friendly place, loads of great advice.

2) Don`t try and learn to much to soon - Learn in parts

3) using maya 8 - turn of interactive creation

create>polygon primatives>interactive creation

biggest mistake autodesk have made so far - tring to turn maya into 3Dmax.

(infact I think the only mistake so far)

good luck with the learning.

Yeah....turn off "interactive creation" uuuuaaaaahhhh....really a mistake from autodesk :eeek2:

turn on "keep faces together" under the polygon modeling tab, "edit mesh"

download the free tuts from Simply Maya.

And, tweetytunes says it! Don't learn too much too fast.

Last but not least......have fun!!!!!
