Pod Racer

Hi Guys,

I wanted to do the Sandspeeder from this site, but a failed attempt at another rather ambitious project made me realize I should try to grasp the very basics of Maya before I ruin such a lovely project to the ground.

I chose the DT's introduction to Maya 2009 as my starting point, and they happen model, texture and rig a podracer in there.

This is my attempt :

Higher resolutions and different angels after the click :
Engine Back Large
Engine Front Large
Engine Detail

I am not sure I am happy about the curve of the engine hull in the back, but overall this model gives me a "Wow, did I make that?" feeling. I am easily pleased, I know user added image

Any comments on both the model and the way I posted this message would be greatly appreciated.

Greetings Dave.

In ICT there are two kinds of people : Technically challenged artists, and artistically challenged technicians.

I am, without a doubt, the latter.
