Exporting Maya models to jME

Hi all,
I think this is the right place to post this.

I'm playing around with a friend to get Maya models into jME.
I understand that you need to export from Maya then import into jME.
I read on jME site but am really confused as to what to use. There is Collada and MD5. But from what I read Collada wont do it all.
Any ideas or suggestions as to what to use? My head is spinning so I figured I would ask the people that have more experience then me.

Thanks.

Heh. I'm actually just exploring jME.

What do you mean Collada won't do it? Are you talking about importing animation as well, or just geometry? jME supports animation with Collada.
