Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Weird Issue

Hey guys so Im trying to go about texturing a house as simple as possible so at first i planed out the roof and side of the house into a UV and popped it into PS but since I have the side beveled, the bevel face textures were off so I figured Id just have one big texture for the roof, then one big texture for the side. so I did this, and it seemed to work but for some reason, i can see through it... O.O ill show u a picture. it looks fine from the front.. but if u turn it, u can see right through the walls.. strange. any help?

Your texture has an alpha channel. Just disconnect it in the shader transparency

Some times for no reason when you use a texture (file format png tiff) maya thinks you want transparencey used with it, in the shader right click on the word transparencey break the connection. If that does not fix it let us know............dave
