subd scuplt

hi guy recently i learn the organic modeling.it was quite fun by using method subd n scuplt.at 1st it was quite smooth when i scuplting a half part of human but when i combine the left n final part it become feaking laggg..wen i scuplt.. how can happening? guys pls help me.....user added image

More detail please. There is an endless list of reasons why things could be lagging. How big is your model, are you in proxy or standard mode, what kind of graphics card do you have, how much memory do you have, what version of maya are you using, what is your workflow, what is your operating system, is your toaster plugged in, what is the phase of the moon..... user added image

hi ctbram just a normal female figure like 2k in polygon mode in subd mode a lot(i mean how to check the number faces) my spec is ati4670, maya 2011, wins 7 home premium, i5, what is the mean of the workflow?)

well, hmmm. 2k poly does not seem that dense. even at display level 2 there would only be 32k polygons if I have done the math correctly. I am not up to speed on ati graphics cards so not sure if that might be the issue or not. Just to be clear in poly mode it does not lag but when you go to subd it becomes slow to navigate (tumble, pan, zoom)?

besides sculpt, i can use all the maya tools efficiently.once i combine both of the left n right part of the body, it become freaking laggg when i sculpting it....user added image

Do you mean the sculpt geometry tool? It might be slow due to the underlying method of subdivision surfaces. To test, convert the model back into polygons. Then use a poly smooth with 2 divisions. Try to sculpt on that. Is it fast then?

still the same as subd mode, but all the detail gone when i switch to polysmooth division 2 .
