Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Two sided planar mapped plane

Hey every one!
I was trying to figure out how to uv texture a simple plane, so that the image applied shows though both sides. Some thing simular to what you would see on DAZ3D, for example fire added to a plane that has a transperency map added.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

Seriously?

A polyplane has uvs already on it, so you can map it straight away, the textures will show through either side. If you distort the plane you'l need to tweak its uvs. If you want to do fire then your fire image needs to have an alpha channel with it, you can then save it either as a tiff with the alpha channel or a 32bit targa in Photoshop. It couldnt be any easier.
