Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Motion capture file into custom rigg - How?

Hello there,

I have my cowboy rigged, all nicely and named.
Instead of going to animate it frame by frame, eventually is what I will end up doing, I'm wondering how can I apply a motion capture FBX file into my custom made rigg. I'm new to this.

Any tips, directions or suggestions are all welcome.
Thank you.

Take a look into HumanIK and joint labeling.

Hi NextDesign,

I looked into some HumanIK tutorials online and came across a set of tutorials.
Video part 5 actually explains how to setup the HumanIK with a mocap file.
I'm following it. However, still would love to know if there's a way to add any mocap file into my existing cowboy rigg. Or everytime I want to use mocap I should use HumanIK and not build any custom rigg?
Would love to know your opinion on this.

Thank you.
