Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

How to make a open cigarette box?

Hello everyone,
how can I make a open cigarette box with cigarettes in it? I've tried to split the top of a cube then extract this part and when I rotate this top piece it's not rotating correctly.

Before you rotate the extracted lid section, move the pivot point of extracted section to fall on the back edge of the lid. The pivot point of the extracted section will be at the origin (0,0,0) by default. (Ins key on windows, d key on mac)

Freeze transformations on the mesh before you extract the lid. I recreated the deformations by starting with a cube, scaling it to form the box and extracted the "lid" without freezing transformations.
