Physical Sun&Sky

Morning, I did a render recently of a wall and sign graphic - I rendered with global illumination and an Hdri image. But the result was not that accurate.

I changed to mayas Physical sun and sky - and the realism increased a lot.

Would anyone know the reason for this?

It could be the tonemapper that the physical sky procedure attaches to the camera, that usually helps a lot.

the exposure simple node? ah yes, that makes sense.

I have plugged in the photographic node now, so will see if that makes a difference as well.

I just thought there may have been some connection with the mia_materials and physical sun and sky, to make them more accurate, but as you say maybe just that tone mapping

thanks
