Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Maya 2011 not saving scenes/crashes

Maya 2011 not saving scenes/crashes

This started yesterday, I opened Maya 2011 and started to work - I went to save scene and Maya seemed to freeze.

I bkup my prefs to a different location - and deleted prefs,
still - the same behavior. I have to force logout each time it freezes - I have Maya 2013 and the same behavior started yesterday.

I googled it and could only find info saying delete prefs.

I should have come here in the first place, because I always get solutions.
thanks
dan

Fixed it - after two days trying to solve this. I just by chance tripped over the answer.

If this helps anyone, this is what I found out.

When I tried to save scene, or even a render - seemed Maya crashed. Turns out it did not.
I noticed the cursor would move to the bottom left of my main display.

So I started Maya again, went to save scene as...
Maya freezes? Again?

I used Win7 command (win key, shift, arrow right.)

This forced my main window/scene/app - etc. to display on my 2nd monitor -
Also using Win trick the save box appeared on the 2nd monitor.
fantastic.

Hope this helps at least one person
Dan
