Hello guys,

In this week end I was very busy, I worked hard at my ideea for realism user added image
Yes fellows, at last I had something in my mind for this challenge.
I thought about... well how about vice (bad habit)?
OK almost 80% of people of the earth have this vice...so I put them in to a scene.
You wander what are those vices...well, they are the smoking and the power of the money.
All started from ashtray (this was the center of interest for my theme), I make it as real as I could, then will comes the others...

I had some difficulties at the cigar ember, but at last I managed to make it to look almoust real.I said almost because I think there has to be a solution to make it more realistic.
Here I post the hipershade for cigar ember to show you my solution...if you have an other solution, better than mine, please show it to me (cenusa from hipershade means ember, I thought to specify to avoid confusions) I'm waiting any tipe of comments and critics.

And here finally a render of my scene.
It's not final because I'm waiting the c&c's and I want to use caustic for the ashtray.
I hope that my computer will aloe me to do it, because I made once a champagne coup and when I used caustics my computer crashed evry time at the render.

WOW, awesome job elnewty! Im glad this isnt your final though user added image... what i really suggest doing is putting ashes in the ash tray, and doing something with that cig, because it is the one thing in the render that really stands out. Fix that and then maybe tear up your bills a bit, add creases and your laughin! It really looks great though so far user added image.

I thougt to, to put some ashes in ashtray and an extinct cigar. (maybe two extincted cigars)
I have to see what will come out because I don't want to overburden the scene.
About the bills, well a little tears will be great, now they look to new... user added image

Thanks M for cheers and comments.

Other c&c are welcomed.

Hi El Newty,

I think it also looks awesome... however there are some places which I have some suggestions to... just like Matt, I think it would be an idea to have some ash in the ashtray, and maybe 1 or 2 used/smoked cigarettes...

the glow thing on the cigarette, also looks a bit out of order compared to the rest of the image...

and I don't know if it is just me, but the 2 things on the ashtray, looks like they aren't a part of the ashtray...

I also think some of the coins looks a bit flat and maybe if it is possible could have some more structure... it is especially the "copper" colored coins...

but a real good looking image... user added image

regards

Strarup

hm.. good render.. but on prob with this competition, this is a modelling competition, so you should make something that is highly detailed and "reallistic", a bowl with a raytraced transparency and a really good looking texture on a cigar wont do.. ( i know this is running through M's mind )...

( i hope i could do something in this comp, but the DVD topic is not working for me )

Cheers,
Tariq

yah i just realized that too. Although it is very pretty, i wouldn't really call that a model, more of a mini scene and the're all pretty much primitives

very nice cig texture tooo
